Golden Acre Brings Real Authenticity To Sainsbury’s World Food Aisle.

We are delighted to share that we will be bringing authentic, leading South Asian food brand Suhana to UK supermarket shelves for the first time, following a confirmed listing in Sainsbury’s from mid-January 2023.

The rollout of three Suhana spice mixes – Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka and Chicken Jalfrezi – into 287 Sainsbury’s stores is part of a plan to help UK supermarkets tap into a £10 million opportunity to sell leading South Asian brands, predominantly only available through specialist independents, to world food aisle shoppers.

Suhana is the leading spice mix company in India, specialising in high quality, convenient one-shot spice mixes. Based in Pune, India, it has over 2,500 employees and serves 50 markets worldwide. The brand is advertised widely on TV in the UK on Indian language channels.

Our Sales Director, Dan Sparshatt explains: “The South Asian world foods aisles in UK Supermarkets have almost no famous brands that you would find in the shops in Mumbai, Lahore or Dhaka. Truly authentic brands such as Suhana are loved and bought by millions of consumers in their home markets. At Golden Acre Foods we are working with these leading brands and our retail partners like Sainsbury’s to bring this truly authentic range to the UK-based South Asian community.
